Hi all,

As the post name would suggest the past couple of months has flown by with lots happening at home and at work.

If you can remember back in Feb I mentioned I was off to Vanuatu to photograph the beautiful Iririki Island Resort, literally a stones throw from Port Vila.

Despite battling the weather in search of the perfect sunset my time there was a great experience.  The staff were amazing and it gave me a great insight into how a resort of this type runs.

So here is a few of the images from the shoot.

Keep shooting,

Cheers

Rob

Hi all,

I recently received some fantastic news from the good people at Kingston Council that I have been fortunate enough to make this years list of finalists for the annual Lens Mist Photographic competition.

Lens Mist forms part of the Mordialloc Food and Wine Festival on the weekend of 16-17th March on the foreshore of Mordialloc and is a great day out for the whole family.  The competition has a judged and public voting section so it would be great if you could come on down and vote for my entry 'Nightly Ritual'. There is no online voting so you have to come and enjoy some fine food, wine and entertainment.

Hope to see you there.

Keep shooting

Rob

Tough Mudder Melbourne Photography- January 2013 Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

January 19-20 saw the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit hosting the summer edition of Melbourne's Tough Mudder extreme obstacle racing series.  The weather was again kind and over 16,000 participants took on the 25+ obstacles around an 18km+ circuit.  I was again on board as Tough Mudder's official photographer.

Solo one of the major sponsors of the event have paid tribute to the participants using one of my images. (see below)

This was once again a visually spectacular event and below is a selection of images from across the weekend.  A wider selection of images can be found on my Facebook Page (Rob Daniel Photography) and on the Tough Mudder Australia Facebook page.

Hi all,

Recently had the pleasure of a week hiking in the Wilsons Promontory National Park.

This area combines amazing coastal and hinterland scenery along with a significant history and pivotal role in safe shipping through our southern waters.

Managed to get a few good night images on my makeshift tripod along the way.  Next time though I think I will have to toughen up and strap the big tripod to the pack.

Love to hear what you think.

Cheers

Property Developers 94Feet are using my images to market their residential development Hoffman Brickworks!

Hi all,

Just received some samples of a flyer for a residential development by 94Feet at the old Brunswick brickworks that features my images.  The development is a beautiful combination of heritage listed buildings and modern design.  I spent a great afternoon in the old machinery shed and up a 12 meter tower to capture these shots.

Let me know what you think?

Until next time, keep shooting.

Cheers

Hi all,

Was fortunate enough to spend a whirlwind week in Darwin recently and couldn't get over what a visual spectacular place the Northern Territory is.

The week was over before I knew it but from the moment my 11 month old daughter screamed with delight as our flight Captain hit the Go button at the top of the runway, I knew we were in for a fantastic time away.

The week featured amazing wildlife, incredible road trains, spectacular scenery and a very easy to get used 30 degrees every day and met some great locals along the way.  What's not to like!

Below is a quick snapshot of the week.

Until next time, keep shooting

Cheers

Hi Folks,

TM HQ have given me the all clear to load some images from across the weekend so here is a teaser of some images from the inaugral Tough Mudder Australia event from Phillip Island.  With over 20,000 participants taking on an awesome range of obstacles and helping out their fellow Mudders along the way, it certainly was a visually spectacular event.

Practicalities prevent me from putting them all up on the website but if you want to see more head to my Facebook page @ http://www.facebook.com/RobDanielPhotography

Storm Chasing

Storm chasing in Melbourne Victoria

For those that know me or have seen some of my work you will know that I am quite partial to photographing some of mother nature's more extreme weather events.  We are now heading into Autumn and in Melbourne at least the storm season is coming to an end.  But to make sure that she is not forgotten mother nature served up these beauties last night.  These images were taken from Mordialloc Pier looking out to the west over Port Phillip Bay.

Sun, storms and Kite Surfers

Sun, storms and kite surfers, the weekend just gone dished all this up and more in and around Melbourne.

Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula plays host to a dedicated crew of kite surfers each Sunday.  From beginners to seasoned professional you will often see upwards of thirty boarders on the water at any given time.  Late on Sunday the kite boarders were confronted with a spectacular storm front heading along the coast.  If you are in to kites of all descriptions then the Rosebud Kite festival on the 11/12 March may be what you after, check out http://rosebudkitefestival.com.au/ for more info.

Well as the storm fronts continued to roll into the evening so did the awesome display of mother natures power.  These images were captured just before the rain came down at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock.  The wind was blowing pretty hard so the horizon is a little shaky.

Well until next time keep shooting.

Cheers

Rob

My sister is off to Vietnam tomorrow and this is one of my favourite images from my travels there.
To me it typifies the sights and sounds that can be enjoyed when you wander the streets at night in this magnificent country.
