Hi all,

Just received word that TM HQ liked my images from the Phillip Island event and want me to come to Sydney to shoot the Tough Mudder event there in September.  I am looking forward to being part of such a spectacular event again, this time in the Glenworth Valley north of Sydney.

Cheers

Hi Folks,

TM HQ have given me the all clear to load some images from across the weekend so here is a teaser of some images from the inaugral Tough Mudder Australia event from Phillip Island.  With over 20,000 participants taking on an awesome range of obstacles and helping out their fellow Mudders along the way, it certainly was a visually spectacular event.

Practicalities prevent me from putting them all up on the website but if you want to see more head to my Facebook page @ http://www.facebook.com/RobDanielPhotography

Shooting Tough Mudder this weekend at Phillip Island

Looking forward to heading down to the Grand Prix Race Circuit this weekend on Phillip Island to cover the extreme endurance event that is Tough Mudder.  Approximately 5,000 contestants each day will take on 28 obstacles across the 20km course in a test of both physical and mental toughness.

With obstacles carrying titles such as Artic Enema, Kiss of Mud, Greased Lightning, Trench Warfare and Electroshock Therapy its sure to be a great spectator event as well.

If you are interested in finding out more then head to http://toughmudder.com.au/events/melbourne for all the information.

Stay tuned next week for some images from across the weekend.

Until then keep shooting.

Cheers

Storm chasing in Melbourne Victoria

For those that know me or have seen some of my work you will know that I am quite partial to photographing some of mother nature's more extreme weather events.  We are now heading into Autumn and in Melbourne at least the storm season is coming to an end.  But to make sure that she is not forgotten mother nature served up these beauties last night.  These images were taken from Mordialloc Pier looking out to the west over Port Phillip Bay.

More storms are forecast for tonight, heres hoping I can get some more shots.

Until next time, keep shooting.

Sun, storms and kite surfers, the weekend just gone dished all this up and more in and around Melbourne.

Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula plays host to a dedicated crew of kite surfers each Sunday.  From beginners to seasoned professional you will often see upwards of thirty boarders on the water at any given time.  Late on Sunday the kite boarders were confronted with a spectacular storm front heading along the coast.  If you are in to kites of all descriptions then the Rosebud Kite festival on the 11/12 March may be what you after, check out http://rosebudkitefestival.com.au/ for more info.

Well as the storm fronts continued to roll into the evening so did the awesome display of mother natures power.  These images were captured just before the rain came down at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock.  The wind was blowing pretty hard so the horizon is a little shaky.

Well until next time keep shooting.

Cheers

Rob

The Lens Mist Competition has Traditional Seascape Photography as its brief and will have a judged and people's choice award.  The peoples choice award voting will take place during the festival at the Peter Scullin Reserve (Mordialloc Pier) during the festival on the 17-18th March.

For more information about the festival check out this!

Everyone friendly day (including families) so if you find your self in the area over the weekend 17/18 March or just want to taste some great food and wine whilst listening to some live music then head on down and join in the festivities.  Whilst your there pop into the Lens Mist tent and please vote for my image in the people's choice award.

Cheers

My sister is off to Vietnam tomorrow and this is one of my favourite images from my travels there.
To me it typifies the sights and sounds that can be enjoyed when you wander the streets at night in this magnificent country.
